Greater Peoria is watched 24/7 by a network of spy cameras.

This map from the Deflock project shows numerous spy cameras, including Automated License Plate Readers (ALPRs) installed all around Peoria, Illinois. They cover all major roadways. You cannot enter or leave the city without passing one. In some cases they are installed in your neighborhood.

These cameras are:

• Hidden - Painted all-black with no lights and no labelling
• Silent - You are not told who is watching you or when
• Unaccountable - We have no proof that the data is kept locally or deleted. Flock, the company which runs most of these cameras, is known to share data with federal agencies, even though Illinois police are not supposed to cooperate with Feds.

Would you let your ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend put a GPS tracker on your car? No? Then don't let the government do the same thing with spy cameras.

Don't be afraid. When privacy is under attack, stand up, fight back. We will press City Council to take the cameras down legally and permanently.

• Signing the petition against Axon - Stop warrantless police access to camera footage in Peoria
